- October 18, 7:00 pm (Maiz de las Americas)
Maiz is one of the most important crops in the Americas, having been domesticated over 10,000 years ago, it was just as important as the domestication of wheat in the European world. This event will have traditional dishes of Maiz made by our own Professor Chinchilla as well as teach about the significance of the crop to the native populations. This event is sponsored by the Spanish House and HOLA.

HOLA and the Spanish House invite you to celebrate the Day of the Dead, which is celebrated in Mexico and some central and southern regions of Latin America. It's an event to come together to celebrate the lives of friends and family members that have passed. An altar will be made were students and staff can bring items of photos of loved ones.
