Porter Jennings completed her B.A. in psychology at the University of the South in 2010. During her time at Sewanee, she had a minor concentration in Spanish and studied abroad in Spain where she attended the Universidad Complutense in 2009. While on the Mountain, Porter was a member of Kappa Delta and a Spanish tutor at Sewanee Elementary. Porter then received her Masters in Clinical Social Work from The University of Georgia in 2012. During her time at UGA, Porter was elected to the Student Faculty Committee and was awarded Outstanding Social Work Student of her graduating class. Porter received a full Title IV graduate scholarship to work in child welfare with a specific focus on utilizing her Spanish skills to assist Latin American families. Following her time in child welfare practice, Porter became a licensed clinician and is currently providing individual and family therapy to children and families with a focus in utilization of Latin American Cultural Competent practice and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Porter is currently the only bilingual therapist in her agency in Athens, Georgia who is fluent in Spanish, and she is able to provide much needed therapeutic services to families and children in her community.
